Arrivals - Day One

September 19, 2025

Welcome to the gorgeous country of Iceland. Cherish makes things smooth for your arrival with a transfer provided from the airport directly into the city center. Check-in at the historic guesthouse, walkable to all of the downtown attractions. Start your getaway by exploring with curated recommendations on how to explore Iceland's capital city. End the evening with a Welcome Dinner to get to know your fellow travelers.

Day Two - Explore Iceland's Southern Coast

September 20, 2025

Our local female guide will take you exploring through Iceland's popular and stunning southern coast, home to some of the most remarkable sites in Iceland. Today we will see two phenomenal waterfalls, visit the famous black sand beach, and then you can choose to take on an adventure and hike on top of a glacier* or explore a historical heritage museum.

End the day with a group dinner along the coast.

Each day your Icelandic guide will assess the weather for the best night to chase the Northern Lights.

Day Three - River Hot Springs & Hike

September 21, 2025

Today you will have another opportunity to choose your own adventure. Take a short drive just outside of the city to hike up the Reykjadalur valley*. The hike will lead you to a natural river up in the mountain and you will have the option to bathe in the natural hot springs. End the incredible experience with a picnic surrounded by nature.

Iceland is also famous for its public pools that are heated by the volcanic activity. If you're not much of a hiker you have an additional option to explore more of Reykjavik with curated recommendations and visit the local pool.

Day Four - Explore Iceland Further

September 22, 2025

Discover the breathtaking beauty of Iceland's Snæfellsnes Peninsula, a hidden gem that blends dramatic landscapes and serene coastal charm. Explore towering volcanic peaks, black pebble beaches, and iconic spots like Kirkjufell Mountain. Wander through fishing villages, marvel at the majestic Snæfellsjökull glacier, and visit Ytri-Tunga to spot seals. With its mystical atmosphere and awe-inspiring nature, Snæfellsnes offers an unforgettable Icelandic experience away from the crowds.

Day Five - Arrival in the Faroe Islands

September 23, 2025

Say your goodbyes to the stunning island nation of Iceland as you depart to continue the grand adventure in the remote Faroe Islands. Take your scheduled morning transfer back to the airport for a quick flight before landing in new scenic surroundings. Upon arriving in the Faroe Islands, head straight to the magical cottages that will be our home for the next few days. You will truly feel captivated by this magical place while being here.

After checking in, join the group for a unique lakeside dinner cruise with waterfall viewing.

Day Six - Full Day in the Faroe Islands

September 24, 2025

Be surrounded by incredible natural beauty and soak in the views all around you. You will have the opportunity today to relax in this stunning setting, take a sightseeing tour* or choose to join the group for an epic hike* in the afternoon over the top of a nearby mountain.

End the magical day with dinner at a local family owned cafe.

Day Seven - Exploring the Faroe Islands

September 25, 2025

Spend the day immersed in some of the most beautiful nature in our world. We will be site seeing through one of this country's most beautiful islands, Eysturoy – the villages Eiði, Gjógv, and Funningur. After sightseeing join the group for a one-of-a-kind sauna experience with heat therapy. Tonight is your last night in the Faroe Islands, close out your stay here by sharing in a homecooked meal at your cottages.

Day Eight - The Blue Lagoon

September 26, 2025

Have a grand welcome back to Iceland by visiting the iconic Blue Lagoon. Feel pampered with an included mud mask and a complimentary drink while bathing in the blue waters of the lagoon.

End your unforgettable journey with a relaxing evening at your luxurious 4-star boutique hotel, complete with a heated rooftop pool. Enjoy a final dinner, sharing memories and farewells with your newfound friends, as you celebrate the amazing experiences you've shared.

Departures

September 27, 2025

On your last morning, feel free to take your time and enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Your departure flight time is at your own leisure. Cherish's travel guide will coordinate with the departure transfer to ensure you have a smooth departure back to the airport in time for your flight.

Arrival Hotel - Reykjavik

Welcome to Reykjavik, Iceland! You will be greeted at the airport with transportation arranged by Cherish to take you to our first hotel. This charming, three-story red wooden house owned by a local husband and wife, was built in 1906 and offers an authentic Reykjavik experience unlike modern concrete hotels. Filled with character, it’s more than a guesthouse, it’s a home. Complete with personal touches like cozy furniture, art, and a collection of 700 books. Rich in history, it was once the city's only bicycle shop and has housed renowned artists and writers. Staying here offers a unique connection to Reykjavik’s past and culture, making it a truly rare find.

Faroe Islands Cottages - Vagar

Our home in the Faroe Islands is extraordinary and otherworldly. These family-owned and built cottages are the setting for Neverland in one of the more recent Peter Pan movie renditions. You will be surrounded by stunning views in every direction. Make sure to be on the look out for rainbows out of your cottage window too. Due to the uniqueness of these accommodations, we are unable to provide private rooms here. There are 4 guests sharing one cottage with a living room, full kitchen, full bathroom, and two small bedrooms.

Boutique Hotel - Keflavik

Welcome back to Iceland. Our last hotel before your departure is a newly renovated four-star boutique woman-owned hotel on two floors located above a small marina in Keflavík. We are ending our journey here due to its short distance to the international airport. The quiet surroundings are the perfect last stop before your onward travels. Enjoy complimentary access to a warm outdoor sitting pool on the rooftop. Its the ideal place to relax and enjoy the view, as well as to catch the northern lights or night sky.

Cherish facilitates all group transportation for your trip, including picking you up from the airport and dropping you off for your departure flight. Keflavík International Airport is approximately 1 hour away from Reykjavik city center. We will arrange one transfer for the group, if you would prefer to go into the city earlier than the scheduled transfer time you will need to book your own transportation. Suggested arrival time prior to 5:00 PM on September 19th to allow enough time for pick up and transfer from the airport in order to join the group dinner at 7:00 PM.

Our hotel in Keflavík is conveniently located only 5-minutes drive from the airport. Your guide will inform the hotel of your departure time in order to coordinate a transfer accordingly. Departures are at your leisure on September 27th.

Full pick up details will be sent to you at least one week prior to your arrival.

COVID-19 Travel Requirements

Iceland does NOT require any vaccinations, testing, or otherwise for entry related to COVID-19.

The Faroe Islands are a part of the Kingdom of Denmark. Both countries no longer consider COVID-19 deadly and do NOT have entry requirements related to the virus.

Valid passport within at least six months of expiration
Return ticket to the country of origin or the next destination to visit
American travelers are only allowed in the EU for up to 90 days
Address of the place of lodging and purpose of travel.
US travelers do not require a tourist visa to visit the Faroe Islands, or Iceland
We are closely tracking the need for an ETIAS visa and will keep our travelers updated

Cherish Trips are for women curious about mindful and immersive travel

The Nordic Getaway is approachable for women of all ages who consider themselves to be lightly active, open-minded, and outgoing.
The Nordic Getaway is curated with active and adventurous travelers in mind. We have several full-group activities planned to make the most of this grand adventure. There are a couple of group activities that require consideration for your physical fitness level. These include the Glacier Hike and River Valley Hike in Iceland and the Postman's Hike in the Faroe Islands. Each of our travelers are able to opt out of all of the more difficult hikes.

Who is your Travel Guide for the Nordic Getaway? For every Cherish trip, we provide a dedicated guide to travel alongside you for the duration of the trip. They are with you to not only facilitate the itinerary but also ensure you have an incredible travel experience. That's why we call our team "Memory Creators". They work with our local partners, tour operators, etc. to seamlessly create an impactful and memorable experience for your vacation.

How to Book

You can sign up for your Nordic Getaway today by clicking the "Submit Deposit" or "Travel with Us" buttons to open a pop-up menu to make your room selections, enter your personal details, see your payment options, and then submit your payment to join.

The Nordic Getaway requires a non-refundable 20% deposit to be able to secure your spot. You have the option to make 5 additional payments via a payment plan for the remaining trip balance or simply pay in full.
